Research Program
The “Signaling in Oncogenesis, Angiogenesis, and Permeability” (SOAP) team is interested in deciphering how tumor cells pirate signaling pathways and cellular trafficking to sustain their survival, as well as the way in which they interact within their ecosystem, with a specific emphasis on tumor vascular network. We aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms and post- translational modifications involved in non-oncogene addiction and life-and- death decisions to both intrinsic deviated signaling pathways and extrinsic factors, focusing on extracellular vesicles.
Our project combines unbiased transcriptomic and proteomic analysis with biochemistry and cell biology, as well as integrated models (mouse models and clinical samples) to explore intracellular signaling and trafficking. We anticipate that our results will increase our knowledge of basic signaling mechanisms involved in tumor initiation, progression, and resistance, and may help the design of new strategies to face human cancers.
Team Organization
The team roster includes 5 tenured scientists and 1 permanent engineer for a total of 20 people, including post-doc researchers, as well as MSc and PhD students. The life of the team is organized around 3 weekly meetings: Group meetings, Journal Clubs, and Ph.D. meetings. Discussions are also facilitated by an open-door policy. Additional interactive meetings are also held on a regular basis to strengthen scientific discussion and internal communication on specific topics: round-table with an external guest – post-doc meetings – life in academia – brainstorming on one project. The lab also organized two yearly events, SOAPosium and SOAPtreat, with scientific and team-building objectives.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow, with a PhD in cell biology, cancerology, immunology, or related fields. Preferred qualifications in imaging and biochemistry (cell signaling, cell death, organelles or cellular trafficking).
The position is available to start as soon as May 2023.
