We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work with us at the University of Birmingham (UK) on our recently funded BBSRC grant “MEIAD: Investigating roles for meiosis associated degradation during meiotic recombination in plants”. We are ideally looking for a candidate who has experience of working with proteins (e.g., Western blotting, Immunoprecipitation) and potentially with skills in mass-spec-based proteomics. Previous experience working with plants is desired but not essential. The successful applicant will be working alongside a second postdoc funded on the project who has experience in molecular cytogenetics and the study of meiosis. The collective aim is to establish how the ubiquitin proteasome system contributes to cross-over determination and homologous recombination in plants.
