“Proteome alterations in peripheral immune cells of DLBCL patients and evidence of cancer extracellular vesicles involvement”
by Mostafa Ejtehadifar, Sara Zahedi, Paula Gameiro, José Cabeçadas, Manuel S. Rodriguez, Maria Gomes da Silva, Hans Christian Beck, Rune Matthiesen, and Ana Sofia Carvalho.
This study investigates how diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) affects the proteome of peripheral immune cells (PICs) and explores the impact of tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) on immune modulation. Using mass spectrometry-based proteomics and functional in vitro assays, the authors identify significant alterations in immune signaling pathways, including JAK-STAT signaling and Fcγ receptor-dependent phagocytosis, and demonstrate that DLBCL-derived EVs can increase polyubiquitination and decrease cell viability. The findings highlight the diagnostic and mechanistic potential of EVs in lymphoma-associated immune suppression.
